It's a sun drenched morning here in Ibiza, Spain. The Beautiful vibes from the people and the continuous Beat of dance Music make el sol's rays on my face feel even hotter. I've been working at an insane pace, and if all goes according to plan I'll have played on more recordings and concert stages than even last year, which was the most since the formation of The CHIC Organization LTD in 1977.
Since those early CHIC years I've had many close encounters with death. Some may say the way I led my disco-party lifestyle looked as if I was actually pursuing death. Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm the last living member of the five males in the original CHIC Organization. I'm in pursuit of life.
I never have to look for negative things because they're always around me and I have no say in the matter. But I do have a say in what I choose to "look for" and I love capturing those choices in photos.
In the early 80's, Afrika Bambaataa and the Soulsonic Force were "Looking For The Perfect Beat." I know my beats are far from perfect. I'm human. Humans are imperfect. Instead of looking for perfection I'm going to live the life I have left and just look for Beauty and the Beat and the Music.
