Nile Rodgers & CHIC "I Want Your Love" LIVE at Glastonbury 2013

Over the last few years I've been building the CHIC brand outside of America. The rest of the world still seems to have expanded the communal concert vibe we started in America back in the 60's i.e. Woodstock, Monterey Pop, Newport, Kool Jazz and many others.

Last year we played one of our first big festivals in America; Outlands at Golden Gate Park. We drew 35 thousand people. I know that San Francisco is a little ahead of the curve on certain movements, but it was wonderful to play live dance music for a huge crowd of Americans.

As I'm writing this we have three festivals booked in America and we're adding more:

There's a distinctly different vibe at these types of shows. They're safer and more family friendly, the people are laid back but over the top with excitement, and there's nothing but love in the house. And you wind up hearing more hit songs than you could have ever imagined - because most people don't know how many songs I've actually done until they hear them.

If you live near LA, New Orleans, or Asheville, NC - come on out - you will have the time of you life. I want to start to know my American peep's faces and names as well as I do my other friends. Everywhere I go in the world I see people I know virtually and then it becomes tactile at the show.

I'm going to post a few random photos of what a typical CHIC show looks and feels like - and why I'm so happy to play more concerts in America. Last year we played to almost three million people around the world. This year, CHIC Comes Back Home.
